All gifts large or small are greatly appreciated by CCM. There are 2 different types of gift. They are explained below together with suggested wordings:
A specific or pecuniary gift
A fixed sum of money or a property or item(s) of value. Bear in mind that due to inflation, a sum of money specified now will inevitably be worth less in the future. For example a legacy of £1000 written into a will in 2010 might be worth less than £380 in 2029. Example wording:
I give to Christian Compassion Ministries UK of 34 Woodland Rise, Welwyn Garden City AL8 7LF, Registered Charity No 1084104, ( <amount in words and figures> OR <clear description of property or item(s) of value> ) for its general purposes. I direct that the receipt of the Chairman of the Board or other duly authorised officer shall be full and sufficient discharge to my executors.
A residuary gift
A share or percentage of the residue after payment of debts, other legacies etc. This has the advantage that the gift increases if, for example, the value of your house or other property increases. Example wording:
I give (all OR a __% share) of the residue of my estate to Christian Compassion Ministries UK of 34 Woodland Rise, Welwyn Garden City AL8 7LF, Registered Charity No 1084104, for its general purposes. I direct that the receipt of the Chairman of the Board or other duly authorised officer shall be full and sufficient discharge to my executors.
