What is your name and what are you studying?
Hi, I’m Mitch Joy D.Aquino and I am a second–year student pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education.
How is CCM helping you?
My journey as a student has not been easy as my family experienced financial problems. There have been times when I have asked myself whether it was possible to continue my studies. My parents are already senior citizens and my father can’t work any longer as he has heart disease and already suffered four strokes. I’m so thankful that CCM is helping me financially with the support of the Scholarship fund.
What kind of expenses does a student have?
As a student, there are many expenses – tuition, projects, transportation and other necessities. In the past sometimes I have had to borrow money to support my studies and then the problem if we borrow is that the interest is high.
What is your inspiration?
My family is my biggest inspiration. I have seven siblings but I really want to graduate so I can be the first to finish a four year course. My parents continue to do their best, even though it has been hard. With God’s help, my family and the people who support me, I keep going!
How does the Scholarship fund help?
It has been such a big help. Through this support I can pay my tuition fees and college expenses. I am studying at a private college and if I am late to pay my fees it can mean I’m not able to take examinations on time. Even with all the challenges, CCM has remained the support system that has motivated me to do well in college and hopefully one day graduate.
