How old were you when you came to live in the CCM Homes ?
I think I was 7 when I came to the CCM Homes with my sister April.
Can you remember how you felt when you first arrived at the Homes?
When I first arrived I felt shy. I was always crying. Everything was new to me.
What did you enjoy about living in the Girl’s Home?
I liked making friends and having fun with them. We could enjoy outings and swimming.
Was there anything you found hard about living in the Homes?
Yes sometimes I found socialization challenging.
What is your best memory of living in the Homes?
My best memory is those people who are closest to my heart. The special friends that I have made.
What were your favourite activities or trips in the Homes?
I always looked forward to the educational field trip in the summer and the swimming outings.
What have you learned through the daily devotions with your houseparents?
I learned so much through reading the Bible every day and the houseparents explaining it to us. The most important thing I learned was about our one and only Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
As you leave the CCM Homes now and go to live with your family, what are you looking forward to?
Most of all, I am looking forward to finishing my studies!
What skills have your learned that you think will help you as you leave the CCM Homes?
At the CCM Homes I have learned how to cook and clean the house. I have more confidence in myself and also leadership.
