It is encouraging to see so many different areas of the slums being reached with the gospel through the weekly evangelistic Bible studies. Previously some areas did not have regular Bible studies due to lack of venue or volunteers.
God has been good in providing men who are able to do this outreach work in these poor communities. The Bible study leaders are studying at the Grace Ministerial Academy, a reformed Bible school for pastors and men training to be pastors. It is also a ministry of Cubao Reformed Baptist Church.
There are parents who are now expressing their doubts regarding their Roman Catholic beliefs. The majority of the Bible study attendees are from the Roman Catholic church. In our Bible studies we seek to emphasise the great and glorious message of the gospel. Some of the parents have requested to have a separate Bible study in their own homes with the motive that their husbands and children will be able to hear God’s word.
We pray that this ministry will be strengthened and that new contacts would also be invited to attend.
The children in the Homes continue to hear the Word of God faithfully taught. I’m able to support the house parents through training and modelling how to use the Scripture in counselling. I provide them with prepared materials as they bring daily devotions to the children in their care.
It is a delight to see the open doors for the gospel…
It is a delight to see the open doors for the gospel that God has granted to CCM. At the same time, I am challenged with the huge work of the gospel while recognizing the practical needs of our recipients.
Please pray for me as I seek to handle the spiritual needs of both programmes and also for the ministry of the Word for the staff, that we will have unity and joy as we obey and serve God.
Above all I praise the Lord for the team (all the staff and volunteers of CCM). Pray that God would continually use us as His instrument in reaching out to children and families with the gospel. Our highest aim and prayer is the glory of God through the salvation of the lost.
