For many years, we’ve referred to our work in the poor slum areas as the ‘EAP’ or Educational Assistance Programme.
While assisting young people with their education is an important part of what we do in the community, we have always been seeking to do so much more. Our gospel witness is central. We also provide support for the physical needs of the children, as well as seeking to help their families and the whole community. The term EAP just didn’t really sum up our work!
So for both accuracy and ease (not everyone remembers acronyms!) you’ll notice that going forward we’ll be using the term Community, rather than EAP.
